WAT philosophy

Welcome to Wat! We are committed to helping you achieve your personal fitness goals. You will be encouraged to test yourself in classes that are physically exhausting, mentally stimulating, and an all-around challenge to the norms of “working out.” We train our students in an environment that seeks to continuously hone inner and outer balance via disciplined practice- and a lot of laughter! The Kru PHILosophies we teach are unique because they strive to stimulate your body and your mind. Our expectations of you are high because we believe that you can do things that you never imagined- whether it’s push-ups, jumping rope, clinch or even fighting. Always ask questions, engage with your fellow students and be ready to see results!

Attendance is on a first-come, first serve basis. Standard attire consists of a t-shirt and shorts. Muay Thai is done without footwear- no socks or shoes required. Boxing gloves are available for purchase if you do not have your own pair. First time visitors, please call our front desk to schedule a mandatory facility orientation and arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled class time. Regular visitors and members, please arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to scheduled class time. Please keep in mind that students are asked to be on time and are prohibited from joining a class 10 minutes after it has started.

Training Bags

Banana bags are named after their shape. They are longer and slimmer than the typical American boxing heavy bags.  The banana bag’s shape allows users to practice high, body, and especially low kicks accurately.

American heavy bags are wider and more stout than their thai counterparts. This allows a focus on boxing combinations as well as body and high kicks.  The added mass helps to build power in strikes.
